Robert, your "Stabilse the patient first" analogy is parallel to me calling reflection the antipyretic for our sick febrile planet. Keep the fever down til we get our act together on the vaccine.
Yes, it makes sense to see planetary heating as like a person with a fever. People often think a one degree rise in world temperature is small, until they consider that a one degree fever is already uncomfortable. And the fact that the planet is headed for over three degrees this century is scary.
